Join us for Belgian IPBES Day on 19 March 2025 in Brussels, Belgium!

For those unfamiliar, the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is a global interface comprising over 140 UN member states that bridges the gap between science and policy. IPBES assesses the state of biodiversity and ecosystem services, providing science-based and policy-relevant options to guide action in the field of biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services.

IPBES just released two new assessments that we will dive into on 19 March:

🔍 The Nexus Assessment

The IPBES Nexus Assessment examines the interconnections between biodiversity, water, food, health, and climate
and provides actionable insights for sustainable development and policy-making.

📚 The Transformative Change Assessment

The IPBES Transformative Change Assessment pinpoints the systemic changes needed across societies to address the root causes of biodiversity loss and achieve a sustainable and just future.

What to Expect on 19 March:
🔹 Presentations of the Nexus and Transformative Change Assessments by the authors.
🔹 Interactive discussions with researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, alongside IPBES experts.
🔹 Networking, including lunch and a reception.

Stay tuned! We’ll share more details about speakers and the programme soon.
