VLIR-UOS Community talk: “Todos por Chaparri”
In this community talk, we'll explore the Chaparri Ecological Reserve in northern Peru. As the first private protected area governed by a peasant community, Chaparri serves as an inspiring symbol for activists, conservationists, and academics 🌍🌱.
🤝 The participatory action research project of our speakers highlights the need for increased awareness of the complex dilemmas faced by protected areas like Chaparri. They'll also discuss the importance of socially sensitive cooperation and solidarity networks with vulnerable territories and communities .
However, it's important to recognize the limitations and challenges of establishing and maintaining international collaborations 🌐⚠️. |
